Hi all :)
I've noticed that the cdda output of 'sox' from a mp3 file is
*very* different from the output of madplay, given of course the same
mp3 file. In fact the diference is even noticeable in the waveform.
I wonder if the cause is that sox does not perform dithering, but
disabling dithering in madplay doesn't solve the problem. Maybe sox
is just truncating the samples?
I'm not asking to the sox author yet because this can be a MAD
issue (configuration options of the library generating different
output but not lesser quality, for example).
Thanks a lot in advance. BTW, I use madplay as mp3 player,
because I think that it is what a player *must* be: simple, easy,
fast, etc... Great, Rob, great.
